Irma Calderon Woodruf is a marketing communications professional who assists Dominion’s Chairman and CEO, Janet Campbell, with investor and public relations. She is a 24-year veteran of telecom giant, AT&T, where she held 18 middle and senior level positions in Public Relations, Advertising and Marketing in five different cities. She also was the Director of Diversity Marketing and the company’s Foundation.
Ms. Woodruff is an experienced writer and an expert in TV, Radio, Print, and Direct Response advertising production and execution. She is highly experienced in Digital Marketing and has directed the development of Responsive Websites, Landing Pages, Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Marketing, Social Media campaigns as well as app development.
She is fluent in English/Spanish and helped launch AT&T’s first foray into Hispanic marketing. The Spanish-language campaign was recognized by the American Marketing Association’s Gold Effie Award, which acknowledges campaigns that exceed sales goals.
Prior to joining Dominion, she was a partner at Digital Marketing Sapiens where she helped major healthcare providers in San Antonio to create and execute successful digital campaigns that retained and secured new patients. Clients included the Institute for Women’s Health, South Texas Spinal Clinic, the Stem Cell Orthopedic Institute, Gonzaba Medical Group, Gonzaba Urgent Care, Advanced Concepts in Plastic Surgery and Sculpt Away (a med spa).
Previous to that, she owned Vision Marketing Partners where she helped a medical spa, Le Salon di Bellezza, with its first, highly successful bilingual advertising campaign, including the planning and launching of its website. For seven years, she handled the public relations and marketing for clients including Alamo Travel Group (the largest travel agency in San Antonio), the Asociación de Empresarios Mexicanos, Common Sense (an IT Company), Operational Technologies (a Department of Defense Contractor), and Sprocket Productions (a firm that specializes in film, video and TV productions), People en Español Magazine, and Latino Magazine. She generated publicity and millions of impressions, positioning clients for growth.
Before Vision Marketing Partners, Irma was a Partner and Director of Public Relations for Webhead, the largest web development company in San Antonio at the time. She skyrocketed name awareness for this multi-million-dollar business technology solutions provider, built comprehensive market publicity campaigns, and was instrumental in changing its business model from serving small businesses to developing relationships with prime contractors, which eventually led the company to work directly for the Department of Defense in cybersecurity. Irma helped double billings in less than three years.
Besides the Gold Effie, Irma has received numerous awards: Outstanding Media Relations from the Wizard Academy/Newsroom Confidential; Outstanding Service Award from the Telecom Pioneers; Outstanding Service from the National Governing Board of the Association of Hispanic Employees of AT&T; and a Dedication Award from the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.
